Here is my latest experiment in letter carving. My friend Bill gave me this piece of magnolia wood to practice on over the holiday period. I have to say it was a really nice wood to work with. This time I added some colour as well to bring out the lettering.
The magnolia tree is an evergreen hardwood flowering tree that grows up to 60 feet or more in height. It produces large, shiny, green leaves and beautiful white flowers in the summer months. A tree that is found in the southern United States.
